Former PM and Finance Minister Najib calls for either Petronas or Khazanah Nasional Bhd to save Sapura from bancruptcy bcos as PNB is a msjor subscriber, many Malay subscribers will suffer losses in their savings if Sapura goes down .

It shd be noted that Petronas and Khazanah are the crown jewels of the country . Their high credit ratings by international institutiona are a major reason why Malaysia is highly rated and respected for its financial stability and credibility.

If the two national icons save Sapura, Malaysia as a whole will pay the price. Bcos while they are both strategic to the country, Sapura is an ordinary public listed company which failed in the ordinary course of business . Do we want to sacrifice 32 million Malaysians to rescue PNB and EPF savers, many of whom are well-to-do?

The govt shd stop the habit of saving companies which suffer losses bcos of their own failures. We shd stop creating a policy hazard for international financial institutions investing in Malaysia.
