To all intents and purposes, notwithstanding what that hot-shot lawyer of his has said, the only possible avenue of escaping a decade of incarceration is to seek a pardon from our King. To seek a pardon means that Najib throws himself at the mercy of the Yang di Pertuan Agong.
But Najib's Hot Shot Lawyer is being arrogant! He is saying Najib ought to be pardoned because the nine Federal Court judges were wrong in not giving him a fair hearing.
Najib is politicizing his appeal for a pardon and tying the hands of our Agong and dragging our Agong into the ugly world of politics. If our Agong pardons him, Najib can go around shouting that our Agong found that the nine Federal court judges were wrong for not giving him a fair hearing...and the Agong agrees with him by giving him a pardon.
Would the Agong be forced into a situation to find fault with his own appointed highest members of the Judiciary?
If Najib wants a pardon, just ask for it. Why put our king in a difficult and embarrassing situation by insisting that you did not get a fair hearing, and that the nine Federal court judges appointed by our King are at fault?
Just ask that hotshot lawyer of yours to stfu.
Najib has caused enough shame and disappointment to the people of Pahang and his childhood friend, the Yang di Pertuan Agong. Give Tuanku enough space to make any decision he wants to make about your pardon without having to worry about anything else.
