The Chief Commissioner of the Malaysian Anti -Corruption Commission (MACC), Datuk Mohd Shukri Abdull finally told the story behind the great pressure he faced while completing the investigation into the case of SRC International, a subsidiary of 1 Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB).
Mohd Shukri said he had to flee to Washington, USA following the pressure placed on him by the government at the time.
"We are under a lot of pressure. Our witnesses were run away, even I myself was threatened with dismissal, asked to retire early, leave early and put me in the training section.
“My experience in the SRC and 1MDB cases is very scary, I almost died in this case. Some people followed all the way to Washington and I managed to get protection from the New York Police (NYPD).
“I thank the boss, Tan Sri Abu Kassim for defending me. He said if you want to throw it away, throw us both away, ”he said in a press conference at the MACC Headquarters in Putrajaya.
Shukri also revealed that he and Tan Sri Abu Kassim Mohamed were accused of being defectors and wanting to overthrow the Barisan Nasional (BN) -led government.
“I am saddened when we are both accused of being defectors to overthrow the government.
"We work hard for the country and want to bring back money (1MDB) from abroad," he said.

- HE replaced 3 international audit firms that refused to manipulate 1MDB's audit report.
- HE rejected reports of misappropriation of 1MDB funds by DOJ, MAS, FINMA, JAN and PAC (foreign and domestic).
- HE rewarded 1MDB officers who followed the instructions of HE and Jho Low with salaries of millions and high positions.
- HE has never taken legal action or investigated even a single HE appointed officer who was found to be involved in the scandal 1MDB ..
It's too long to list the involvement of this Bandit during those 9 years ... until HE fell and was dragged to court.
That is, what HE does and does not do .. hinder and do not hinder are all not in line with HIS denial that HE is supposedly innocent.
The bottom line ..
While HE was in power as PM .. no one he arrested .. investigated and prosecuted.
Even the HE tried to cover up and thwart the investigation and prosecution efforts.
