Pas is the go-to party when the 20mil majority Malay Malaysians reject Umno. Today, almost 95% of Malays support them. The ones that did support Umno earlier have joined Pas.
Why pas?
Pas is much better than Umno. They are well organized, members are united, and loyal to their leaders, they have awesome super coders and hackers, chip designers, their top guns speak mandarin and almost all are top corporate figures and business Malaysian Muslims are Pas members.
The way they manage leadership is a support system to plan and execute policies and programs for the office of the president. This not only focuses on knowledge and leadership but also generates synergy to strengthen the whole organization at every level.
Their members are nurtured to be united or 'akad' based on Islam. Pas policies of building their internal strength are now concurrent with strengthening their external policies. The president for instance chairs a committee with world-class leaders on Islamic jurisprudence and is empowered to issue edicts if need be.
The above policies engage Pas towards the coexistence of a multiracial, multireligious Malaysian Malaysia. This will be applied to win 39 out of 56 Selangor seats in this coming state election.
Pas also acknowledges the new era is here. In the past, the party engages Abim and its leaders to strengthen itself. Not anymore.
Today a Pas digital era committee consisting of Malaysian Malaysia from top universities in the world is formed and chaired by the president himself. The idea is to figure out how it can align technology to give it the biggest impact and maximize the benefit for the party within the parameters of its progressive rightly interpreted belief system.
It appears that even artificial intelligence algorithms are used to help advise their policies and programs to this effect.
Here is an old friend of mine who is a present-day corporate leader (dnex bhd) who is guided by Islamic principles. He is and there are many of them who are not Umno enthusiasts.
