What PMX Anwar Can Be

I believe, AI had been misled by his Consultants, you know…the blue suited McKinsey types, who’d all make a beeline for his office once he became PMX…armed with their stats and pye charts. We can’t even rule out, that the American Consultants deliberately, misled him. I’m sure that anyone using stats, can persuade him too, to take the disastrous course, that he took!

AI, has to be commended for his anti-corruption policies, which unfortunately was undone, by the withdrawal of charges against Zahid Hamidi, et al. That the nation can forgive, for the alternative was a Hobson choice, which is far more undesirable.

He has to decide, whether he wants to be a piddling little PM, like his predecessors, focused entirely on popularity with the Muslim majority or he wants to go down in history as a Gandhi, Mandela, Martin Luther King…a visionary Malaysian leader, who dragged his country out of its multi-generational malaise and quagmire?

BE BOLD! Do an Abe Lincoln, who did the most unpopular thing…abolish slavery…making groundbreaking decisions in the present, for a future Malaysia, free from racism, corruption and poverty, where people thrived and lived in peace and harmony!

Borrow ideas, from the best of democracy and socialism. Bring the NEP to an end and replace it, with a new national program, where affirmative action is directed at both the rural and urban poor, irrespective of race.

The NEP, is the albatross around the nation’s neck! A global survey, done by Burson Mastellar in 2008, showed that the NEP was the biggest stumbling block towards foreign investment in Malaysia. Nothing has held Malaysia back, like the NEP did, for it incentivises the endemic corruption, that enriched the corrupt politicians and, their families, and in truth, kept the Malays perpetually poor, to be exploited during elections! Are Singaporean Malays, unhappy with their lot? In fact, a certain smugness, condescension and disdain for their poor Malaysian cousins, is discernible amongst Singaporean Malays!

He has to undo, the dastardly policies, overt or covert, of his nemesis, the son-of-a-thousand-fathers, Mahathir, who’d done more damage, than any other leader in Malaysia, to destroy the very fabric of harmony and institutional integrity in the country, secretly building a culture of corruption to benefit his family and cronies! Don’t try to out-Islam PAS, as Mahathir tried to do. That ship has sailed…

Apart from that bold decision to replace the NEP, AI should:

1. bolster East Malaysian support, and fortify that iron-clad Fixed Deposit

2. work like a ferret, to dismantle and reverse, post haste, Mahathir's, cynical gerrymandering of electoral boundaries throughout the nation. In fact, AI should ask the AGs Chambers, to study whether he could restore the electoral boundaries by fiat, by the stroke of a pen...or by constitutional amendment, and take it from there, to fine tune further, where electoral boundaries are decided by population numbers, instead of demography. If so, he'll defeat the opposition easily!

3. focus on the economy, instead of trying to defend the ringgit, which is a bottomless pit (see Turkiye's & India's wastage of billions, trying to defend their currencies). "It's the Economy, stupid", was the clarion call that Bill Clinton's inspired campaign manager used, to change course, and commandeer Clinton's historic victory, over a war winning President, George HW Bush!

4. work on the long game, of improving stem education and controlling the education syllabus of national type schools as well as the Madrassahs and religious schools.

5. introduce legislation to bar all monopolies, which inevitably, acts as a fraud against the public, in the form of higher prices and poorer services.

6. identify an area in which Malaysia can excel and be a world beater and put in place, policies to encourage that. Set up a task force to study the issue. Who knows, focus on…say…the development of cutting-edge semi-conductor chips?

In truth no country can have a monopoly in this field, in perpetuity!

Can be but, won't

Let see some of the achievements in the last 10 months

Appointment a greenhorn education minister

Allocating nearly $2 billion to Jakim

Indians get $150 millions

So much for supporting Mirage man

Giving Jakim more say in the governance of the country

Nice one !!

No support for Tambun farmers

Plenty of support for Hamas

Treating non students like dirt

Dissing western powers over Palestine

when Saudi , Jordan and Egypt are playing it safe

Saudi and Jordan denied airspace for Yemen

Hezbollah leader got the cold feet

Great move , jumping with two feet in the fray

Humungous imaginary investments from abroad

And Tesla with set up operations in Thailand

Elon Musk knows a dud…

If pmx had wanted to, he would have done everything on the list already.

Now pmx trying to appease singapore by trying to sell our green energy when local demand cannot be met. And he unilaterally increase green energy tariffs without consulting anyone, like sabotage our industries.

His consultants sre most like his old friends in umno like zahid hamidi snd buddies in ABIM. Hence islamic centric policies.

Those who voted for reform van throw the list in the dustbin. There wont be any. If DAP is smart, they should identify s potential replacement as they are biggest party. Abang jo fits everything reform voters wanted. First PM from east malaysia is not a bad thing. We need a breather…
