UEM Sunrise : Khazanah Nasional Owned Company selling land to Non-Bumis. Why?

QUESTION :

UEM Sunrise has been selling plots of land to non-bumii companies over the last few years instead of developing the land themselves. If these activities continue, how are we going to achieve Bumi Equity target?. These CEO’s goyang kaki and earn big salaries and perks by just selling assets instead of building them up.

UEM is not a bumi company. Its a gomen company.

Nothing wrong selling land to anyone who wants to buy.

It’s a FREE market only when it is really free……no bumi quotas especially for the rich Bumis.

How are we going to ever reach or maintain the ‘required’ bumi quotas if Bumis or bumi GLCs keep on selling their assets to non Bumis and then certain politicians and organisations start making noises demanding more preferential treatments to meet the quotas………

Instead of generating profit, they are selling assets to show that the company is profitable and that they continue to earn bonuses end of year…..

That’s GLCs in Malaysia
