Stop the killing, free the hostages, bury the dead, heal the wounded and feed the hungry.

I do not see Israelis or Palestinians. Not Jews or Arabs. I just see humans suffering. I see fear, sadness and the pain of losing loved ones. These are the people suffereing because of the wars being waged by their leaders upon each other. Wars that are waged not for freedom. Not for civil liberties. Wars that are waged because one race wants to eliminate the other. Wars waged for revenge. Wars waged because they can. Rockets are fired at one another killing everyone else but the very people who are waging the war. Wars that are fought not between Christians and Muslim, but war waged because of the agendas of politicians.

What concern these leaders is not if the war can be won or lost. While these leaders are in safe havens, well protected and insulated from the realities of war and will never ever even be in any mortal danger, their people die by the thousands....and among them....children, old people and women who do not have anything to do with the war save for the fact that they happen to live in Gaza and Israel.

I am not conflicted as to whether I should support Israel or Palestine. Neither am I conflicted if it is the Jews that are to be blamed or the Arabs. Suffice to say that in a war - nobody wins. There are only victims.

Revenge. Revenge. Revenge. On both side the need for revenge drives all of them to kill each other. And it will never stop until each understand that in the end, everybody loses.

By the time Germany and Japan understood that the war was lost, 4.2 million Germans and almost 2 million Japanese have died. And everywhere else, over 30 million died. For what? For the free world? To keep the evil of the Nazis and the Japaneses contained? Is it worth over 30 million lives?

And so far, how many people have died in this Gaza Israel war? The death toll has reached 4,385, while 13,561 people have been wounded. I am sure the leaders of both sides of this war have the stomach to kill more of each other . Much much more.

For those of you who are carrying the flag for Israel or Gaza....THINK. The killing must first stop. The hostages freed. The dead given decent burial. The wounded healed. Food, shelter and clothing for everyone. And then start the slow process of rebuilding again - first rebuilding the houses destroyed and then, then rebuilding the lives and trust between everyone. There is only one world...the one that we are all living in. Do not let anyone destroy it.
