POLITICS AND CORRUPTION: WHEN WILL WE BE FREE OF THESE TWO EVILS? PERHAPS NEVER!

Whether it be the Indians, Chinese or Malays, the situation depicted in the following video is being repeated much too often across the length and breadth of this nation. It involved Malaysians, numbering in the hundreds and thousands, being forcibly evicted by orders of the Courts, from land that they had settled upon for decades and where two, three and even their fourth generation have called home. And for the many decades that they have lived there, they have done so with the full knowledge of and even encouragement of the powers that be for various reasons - mostly political.

Like the illegal pendatangs, the discounts for traffic fines given from time to time that have become the norms, the almost God-like status given to Civil Servants as their salaries are always on the up and up and the bonuses given to them increases, the corruption, the abuse of political power for personal gains and the Royals involvement in business.....all these ills of our societies are now being visited upon us, the present generations of Malaysians, in ever-increasing instances simply because these ills can no longer be kept hidden nor ignored. They are all cans of worms waiting to be exposed.

Again let me emphasize...the following video is not simply a manifestation of the ills that only the Malays in Kampong Setia Jaya have been facing that has now culminated in the notice of eviction from the land that they have settled upon for generations, but in reality, the situation that the people of Kampong Setia Jaya are now facing are the results of two basic fundamental issues that has burdened our society for much too long: POLITICS AND CORRUPTION.

And really, when all is said and done, there is nothing we the Rakyat can do to save ourselves from the ravages and destruction visited upon us all by the evil of POLITICS AND CORRUPTION.

Enough said.

(1) The dwellers stayed on govt land illegally (Pejabat Tanah Dan Galian) from the 70s

(2) The govt sold the land to TAR University in 2015 for the extension of the campus. TAR fees are among the cheapest among private universities

(3) From 2015, they knew they had to move out

(4) TAR's lawyer, Shooklin & Bok gave an eviction notice in Feb 2022, 1 1/2 years ago.

(5) The govt should have arranged for alternative lodging for the dwellers.

(6) All these happened during the time of the Najib, Muhyiddin & IS administrations

(7) Various parties are trying to get mileage from this

(8) Kampung people are not used to solving things themselves. They always depend on the kerajaan. So the kerajaan then (& now) should have pre-arranged something for them.

(9) TAR's expansion plans are not new. They have planned this decades ago.

It's peculiar how a population residing in an illegal space for generations now demands its rights despite being allowed to cultivate the area for farming without receiving proper land titles from the government, akin to the Felda settlers.

Despite numerous efforts to empower the Malays through Malay congresses and the New Economic Policy (NEP) with significant investments, only a few have truly benefited.

Senator Ti Lian Ker rightly emphasizes the necessity for a Malaysian agenda that aids all citizens, ensuring prosperity for everyone, rather than exploiting political gains or serving opportunists.

The substantial funds allocated through the NEP should have ideally provided not just land titles but significant wealth to all Malays. Instead, a select few have prospered under…
