Pak Zol aka Dato' Zolkipli Abdul. MCOB. Retiree in govt 35 years
You need to do a careful research on this subject … each country and each govt has its own characteristics defined by the people who are not static but dynamic.
Where do i like to live..... my answer is Malaysia …but your govt is unstable .. who said so ?
Our govt responds to the demands of the people and continue evolving, it looks like unstable to you but to us it is always responding to changes ….we have a parliament that practises open debate, an audit parliamentary team that conducts transparent auditing of all govt agencies, CID investigates all crimes and Sprm investigates all forms of corruption …our public practises open dialogue criticising govt policies, procedures and actions .
Why expressions of concern and unhappiness from the public ?
For Malaysians this is our strength as a nation, we question our govt everything we are not happy about …. we r happy from early in the morning we open the taps water flow out, there is transport to go to work and return, there is power, food, medicine clothing ….
What about the poor ....yes we have been addressing this to reduce poverty …… we recognize we still have weaknesses, high prices because we are dependent on imports for food and other products, incidences of corruption and abuse of power ….. these weaknesses and incidences do not control our govt or our lives ……
I know that political leaders and civil servants are working together to realise a good life for all citizens ….if some of them are corrupted they have to face the law and Sprm … other crimes with CID and enforcement agencies ….Malaysia negaraku .
Writer either just born, apoligist or civil servant and eat bread and butter sendiri 🫠🫠🫠
There is a flaw in this evolving gomen landscape. The rural peninsular voters get more seats allocated per head. And this eventually influence gomen direction.
And civil servants too are a big power bank. So they get all kinds of benefits from both sides. I reckon our top civil servants get similar pay to those in europe. But our economy is only a fraction in size.
If not for our oil and gas, our economy would have collapsed. Our gomen is addicted to our oil and gas income and usiing it to create national companies and thereby killing the dynamic tax Paying private sector. We have the so called " dutch disease" and we need to get out of…
A “shiok sendiri” narrative, methinks.
In my world, this kind of reaction comes from someone whom I label as ‘he doesn’t know what he doesn’t know’. A Government’s performance is not measured by what it is ‘busy doing’ (“..responding to the rakyat”, according to the writer). Governments are judged by the results. Those results are further measured by the element of efficiency. In other words, whatever results are generated, one needs to look at how much input (time, money) went into producing those results (output). M’sia probably ranks very low on almost every measure of productivity/quality against each performance measure.
Successive governments (largely UMNO) have experimented with numerous “strategies” at tackling a variety of issues. Colossal amounts have been spent…
