PERSPECTIVE: THE NEED FOR A "MALAYSIAN AGENDA" TO BENEFIT ALL.

dr Kamsiah

It's peculiar how a population residing in an illegal space for generations now demands its rights despite being allowed to cultivate the area for farming without receiving proper land titles from the government, akin to the Felda settlers.

Despite numerous efforts to empower the Malays through Malay congresses and the New Economic Policy (NEP) with significant investments, only a few have truly benefited.

Senator Ti Lian Ker rightly emphasizes the necessity for a Malaysian agenda that aids all citizens, ensuring prosperity for everyone, rather than exploiting political gains or serving opportunists.

The substantial funds allocated through the NEP should have ideally provided not just land titles but significant wealth to all Malays. Instead, a select few have prospered under the policy, while those in power have misused the nation's resources, accumulating immense wealth for their families for generations.

It's reasonable to ask why these influential figures don't share their wealth or business profits to uplift the less fortunate, starting with supporting these illegal settlers of Kampung Setia Jaya.

Their declarations of income and assets might shed light on their staggering wealth compared to those they claim to represent.

Examining their lavish lifestyles, opulent homes, claimed gifts, assets through proxies, and extravagant possessions like horses, yachts, and holiday retreats could reveal much and act as a necessary disinfectant for the country's current afflictions.

Actually, Razak was correct in identifying the bulk of the Malay population pre-1969 as being marginalized, as far as having a piece of the economic pie. The NEP, if it had adhered to its primary goals (uplifting the Malays and eradicating poverty with attendant well-thought out strategies to fulfill those goals), with sincerity, by UMNO politicians, the country (and the Malays) would have fated significantly better. So, the intent was genuine and sincere. I still recall the prior research done (by one GED Lewis….remember him?) on why Malays were backward in the development of the economy. Razak had consulted with Lewis and probed the subject considerably. So, the NEP was not just a whimsical endeavor but some thought had g…

Razak sowed the seeds of demise of Malaysia with racist agenda. From then on , all

malay leaders harvested the crop he planted as there was and still plenty of

profit from racism. Then came Bawang and mob who saw an opportunity to make

money from bigotry and started to Arabise the country

The only man { Dato Onn Jafar } with had a vision for a Malaysian identity was shunned by

malays. People go into politics in Malaysia for MONEY and not to make Malaysia

a better place. And quite a few made tons of money . And latest to join in this hunt

another wannabe Indian party. Stupid or what. Like the Indians need another party!!

Trillions of funds designated for the Malay agenda and NEP have been spent over the years. This staggering amount could have enabled all Malaysians to afford houses and accumulate substantial wealth, similar to how countries like Norway, Brunei, UAE, and KSA support their populations. Despite possessing wealth and natural resources comparable to these nations, the whereabouts of this immense sum of money remains unclear. Politicians have divided and ruled the nation while exploiting its wealth, leaving a question mark on where these funds have gone.
