Dato’ M Santhananaban
Our Brother has survived as PM for a year and a day as of today.
He has not thrived or triumphed the way some of us expected.
The important thing is that he has managed to prevent that Hadi-Mahiaddin duo from getting near the seat of power. I can't imagine either of them as PM. Anwar is the more tolerable alternative although his tilt to some kind of a bias towards theocratic concessions in a functioning multicultural democratic system is troubling.
He must not only survive but maintain and sustain his position on the inclusiveness of our entire society. We must thank the Almighty that there have been no major scandals involving his government in the past year. No earthquakes, no missing airplanes or a case of a Mongolian murdered in cold blood. Today Sirul Azhar's narrative is on the front page of our Star newspaper. This again shows some progress and improvement in the quality of journalism.
I believe our Brother Anwar is doing some things right although patience is wearing thin over his slowness on the reform agenda. Maybe he will get better with time.
We must not forget we now have had a deputy prime minister from Sarawak for a year. That itself is a big innovation. Sarawak has an exemplary government in terms of a leadership of integrity and social harmony. I'm not sure if anyone else would have allowed that. Anwar has done it. He has to stay put in the country and attend to disturbing domestic issues. He has to survive, succeed and we have a responsibility to constantly remind him of his duties. May Malaysia prosper under a dedicated and wise leadership.
What the country lacks is a true National Leader (not a tribal one). The concept of leadership is not at all understood by ANY of the current Malay politicians. I am focusing on Malay leadership only because they are the only ones capable of initiating change (the Nons don’t matter), ….if they choose to.
National leadership requires there fundamental ingredients before anything else can be considered. First, an acknowledgement that he/she will represent the entire rakyat in ALL matters. No ‘special attention’ to champion one group’s interest over another. The only common denominator for ‘special consideration’ will be ‘needs-based’, not ‘race-based’.
Next, a deep sense of humility - to acknowledge that he/she has come into an office where much learning…
Bravo, Dr.Kamsiah. I could see that you understand modern football. Well done.
1. Sirul in in front page solely because the people responsible for Atlantuya’s heinous murder is not Anwar’s people. LCS scandal is no more an issue and is buried deeep inside
2. As I said before, anwar knows that at least 95% of non malays will still vote for him on voting day for fear of green wave………… in my opinion, his current and future agenda will be to win over as many supporters of green wave as possible and guess what he will do to win them over…….
In my opinion, until a credible alternative Malay politician surfaces, the non malays will have almost zero choice BUT to vote for anwar.
Don't mess up,PMX,work for ALL Malaysians.
PMX has been a steadfast goalkeeper, stopping opponents from reaching the seat of power especially from the Hadi-Mahiaddin duo.
Yet, he's also hindering his own team's scoring, which is detrimental, not just in games, but in politics too—especially when it comes to handling public funds.
The role of a goalkeeper has evolved, with No.1s now expected to initiate plays and offer the final line of defense in modern games. This seems to be PMX's strategy.
We might need more patience to allow him to manage his team and the game effectively.
