The Malays are now more religious-minded. People know more about Islam than a generation ago, pray regularly, and pay zakat as testified by the amount collected by the zakat departments. This is good. To religious-minded people when it comes to choosing, they will choose what is Islamic.
For many Malays, Pas is an Islamic Party, but Pas exploited this, and Umno's campaign of anti-DAP indirectly benefited Pas.
The large disbursement of funds in PRU15 by PN resulted in the green wave. The money helped in the canvassing which was to bring about awareness of Islam, but Pas choose what they considered as Islam. It can also be said that the canvassing was not conducted as what is considered as correct for Islam. Saying bad things and worse, making false accusations is wrong. Pas chose what they considered as Islamic. Islam is not only the practice of prayers and Zakir but also socioeconomic improvements.
Pakatan Harapan should be seen as really more Islamic than Pas in deeds. People can see when a good gesture is done, like immediately providing 50 million to Kelantan and Terengganu when DSAI visited the two states recently to see for himself the damage done by the floods. They can see that it is a good Islamic act. Giving the oil and gas royalty to Kelantan will bring a change in the people's perception of PH. Not all are hard-core Pas supporters who may not change
Malays throughout Malaysia are watching what PH will be doing. Amal makruf nahi mungkar is most relevant.
Pas without the word Islam in its name will not be so popular. It will be like any other party. Like Hamim before. Amanah may suffer the same fate as Hamim. But if its name is party Amanah Islam, it will be more. Can challenge Pas.

agree with naharozi.. except for the minority, the majority of fellas in those States doesn’t know how to appreciate help coming from other than PAS and are detached fr true Islam after decades of brainwashing thru subtle indoctrination.. I’d rather help and fund those who really needed help and support the Feds except on emergencies and tragedies ..
Amanah was formed out of a clever strategy by dap to stop the regional based pas advancing nationally under predatorial hadi into perak,selangor,n9 and johor in 2015.
Amanah was not able to and in 2022, having barely contributed 5% in parliament, allowed pas to grow and grow to 49 seats. Amanah failed as far as dap is concerned.
Dap have now decided to go for the rural malay voters themselves.
To be successful and win at least 30 parliamentary seats, Amanah must win the grassroots voters. their management, financing and even stakeholders has to be restructured. The current set up needs improvement and amanah members must be trained to recruit new members.
Their state leadership are clueless too. For example,…
