Let us not deceive ourselves that all is well with Malaysia today. From being a thorn in UMNO's side, PAS can now legitimately claim to have the support of the majority Malay Muslims for they are now the political party with the largest number of seats in Parliament. This reality was confirmed in the recent state elections.
Seats contested 245:
PAS 105
Bersatu 40
PKR 25
UMNO 19
DAP 46
Amanh 8
And how are we dealing with the ascendancy of PAS?
Let them turn Terengganu into a Syariah-compliant state. Isolate them - no federal funding. Do not allow anyone from Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu to earn a living outside their states....and we want PMX to focus on our states...focus only on those that have chosen to be governed by this Madani government!
If the people in Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu have chosen to have PAS govern them, who are we to say no to their choice? We have PKR, DAP, UMNO, MIC, MCA, AMANAH, MUDA, GPS, GRS, and a host of other political wannabes...why not PAS? We have Christians, Hindus, and Buddhists in government. Why not PAS Muslims? This is not about Shyriah-compliant states, not about where you can or cannot work in Malaysia, and certainly not about withholding federal aid to Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu!
I am not talking about Muslims vs the rest nor about State vs the federal government. Let me tell you what concerns me!
The population of Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu is approximately 4.6 million. Majority Malays Muslims.
How many hard-core PAS extremists are there within this 4.6 million people? You know, those PAS people that tell us that if you do not vote PAS you do not get the 72 virgins nor go to Syurga? How many Hadi Awang's, Sanusi's are there in Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu?
How many of these people in Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu will turn up at a ceramah given by Zakir Naik?
Let us go further...how many people living in these three states will want their hands amputated if they are caught stealing? How many of them believe that adultery must be proved by the testimony of four eyewitnesses to the actual act of penetration, or a confession repeated four times and not retracted later? What about wearing shorts? What about going to cinemas? Do they want teh tarik water from their taps?
I think you guys are getting my drift kan? Kelantan, Kedah, and Terengganu are now governed by a small group of PAS politicians who are imposing their will on many millions of Malay Muslims. They can do so because these many millions of Malay Muslims have not known anything else but a PAS government. In their education, in the way they have lived their life, in the present and the afterlife, it has always been what these PAS leaders want them to think or do. These PAS leaders, numbering, at best, in the tens of thousands, are imposing their political will upon many millions for their own vested interest - political power and the spoils that politics brings to them - money and power.
The people of Kelantan and Terengganu have been under PAS for decades...and now Kedah has joined their ranks. Think carefully before you want them isolated from all of us. Think carefully if withholding federal funding is going to make them regret choosing PAS or is it going to drive them further towards PAS?
Remember, there are 4.6 million Malaysians in Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu, and yet what they think and what they want for themselves is irrelevant. It is these tens of thousands of PAS politicians that have decided and will continue to decide their future for them. Let us assist this Madani Government by embracing the 4.6 million Malaysians in Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu, bringing these Malaysians into our hearts, and telling them that there is another better way to live their lives. Tell them that there is another way for politicians to govern and let them see that the Islam that you believe in is better than the one that PAS is now imposing upon them. Islam, as it is being used by PAS, is not right. PAS must take responsibility for the wrong they do to Islam and to the people of Kelantan, Kedah and Terengganu!
Yes, there is a place for PAS in Malaysia as there is also a place in Malaysia for others. Embrace PAS and embrace the people in Kelantan, Kedah and Terengganu for we are all Malaysians, and if there are some among us that want to have PAS govern them, so be it. That is the essence of democracy, is it not? Unity in diversity! When you have your adversary close to you, the better for you to keep watch on them, and the better for you to show them that there is a better way to lead their life... and given time, that will soon bring them over to your side. Enough said.
I never voted BN. In two cornered fights, i chose pas rather than BN since the first tme i was able to vote. Just a lesser of two evils. Protest vote.
But now, after looks like two PH screw ups, i have no choice but not to vote next election as none if these parties represent my interest. All appeasing to malay interest and not that of the country nor economy nor education . It does not matter whether its umno, drm, muhyidddin, ismail sabri, and now anwar, all pouring money down the drain to appease malays. But very little achieved except more. Bailouts. From rice farming which i thought was bernas responsibility, to felda, tabung haji, felcra.....now its tabung angkatan…
PAS is just another hypocritical malay party , just like
the rest of the other malay parties. Every one claims
claims to be more Islamic than others but , in reality
no better. To date, none of the malay parties has called
for the separation of sin taxes and given back to nons
Hypocrites
The probability of PAS forming the federal govt in 10 yrs time or even earlier is real and everyone should be prepared for it……… for better or for worse.
Those suggesting that anwar not to give any federal allocation to non PH states better be prepared for total retaliation once PAS comes to power………… PAS is also reading this blog I am sure.
Recent statistics showing 98% of Chinese voted for DAP better not celebrate too early . This same statistic will be used by PAS to convince more malays that since the Chinese are all out to vote for DAP, the malays must also join forces and go all out to only vote for only malay party.
I was…
