One day at a time...

3.39am Tuesday. Melbourne. I am just about to finish writing. Just these last few lines before I go to sleep. I am not here to change the world, not here to fight poverty in Somalia or Haiti nor am I trying to reduce carbon emissions by advocating that homes should be more energy efficient. I will leave all that to those committed brigades of do-gooders who see it as their mission in life to do all that, and sometimes more....much more. Enough for now...now I lay me down to sleep.

4.15 pm Wednesday: I have not been back to KL for 13 years. Have not been back to breakfast at Nasi Lemak Antarabagsa in Kampong Baru. Miss that Nasi Dagang with Ayam Goreng Berempah in Datuk Kermat and all those wonderful Malaysian cuisines you can partake with drinks and desserts for less than RM10 and still get change!

And also heavy on my mind......I have not said any doas at my late parents' grave in the Ampang Muslim Cemetery for the same amount of time.

As I grow old...no that is not right. As I grow older, because I am already old...as I grow older, sometimes, I get tired, and sometimes I falter, but only momentarily. Within me, there still beats a heart that tells me again and again...write Hussein! Write what is in your head, in your mind, and within your soul. Write and tell them how you feel about what is happening back home.

I am sooo…so tired of the Jibby-Shafee antics.

How did we get here? How did Malaysia get to where we are now?

Never in my wildest did I expect Tun Razak’s son, of all people, to cause the destruction of our institutions...of our country. Not one of our institutions...Felda, Risda, Felcra, MARA, Tabung Haji, EPF, TNB, Khazah....not one of them has been left untouched by him. The entire construct of what makes a nation...our nation.... has been corrupted to the core by this one man in his blue Armani suit. Thank God he is now a convicted felon locked up in Kajang!

And as if that was not enough, the destruction of Umno has begun. As much as I want to see Umno as we know it now, destroyed and buried under concrete and steel, I am drawn desperately to wonder what will then become of the Malays who harbored hopes for Umno to be their savior - their road to salvation and their hope for a decent and secure future. Perish those thoughts - the Umno of today is past redemption. Past saving and certainly past its use by date. Mari kita tanam those corrupt politicians hidup hidup!

I am not writing for Pakatan Harapan or Barisan Nasional. Not for anyone, but for myself.

The anger, contempt...dare I say hate? that is within me for what a few corrupt politicians are doing to so many Malaysians is palpable. And yet there are so few of these bastards that I think, their names, if listed in the 80 page exercise books used in school, would need no more than one page of that exercise book. Maybe even less. Less than a hundred of these Malaysians...dare I say Malays?...less than a hundred of them are responsible for the mess that our nation is in today. Take these hundred down, locked them up in Kajang and Sungai Buloh, and then our people and our nation can begin the process of nationhood again.

Is redemption and nationhood possible? I have spent many moments thinking of all this and more.....but thinking about it all will not make it happen. I hope in your own quiet moments, you too will think of same and decide what you will do......what we will do together.

The excitement and genuine belief that Malaysia will be ours that prevailed in PRU14 in 2018 is missing in 2022. Whether PRU15 is next week or next year...at the most, what Malaysians will do is to turn up at polling station and pangkah their druthers....and then sit back and wait to see what will happen. Something must be done to bring back the spirit of 2018 when we all got together to take back our country from the thieves and robbers in Putrajaya.

I see nothing on the horizon. What can you see?

I feel the same dread as since I am here, people tell me, PH did a lousy job. So we have no one to look up too and BN knows this and banking on it.

Today or tommorow pm ismail will seek an audience with the king to seek his majesty's consent to dissolve the parliament.this will make way for ge 15.

The king has absolute power to agree or disagree.

The indifference with the public compared to the excitement of ge 14 nevertheless is telling.

They are disgusted with umno court cluster and the apparent feeling that the powers-that-be are villains.

Umno seems to be trying to put criminally charged zahid as pm.they plan to recommend the king to fully pardon and free the condemned prisoner, dato seri najib.

If this happen, dato seri najib will force a by election in pekan and be its mp again.

PH has started campaigning.so far they failed to captivate…
