Pakatan Harapan won PRU14 for one simple reason. All the parties, factions, and individuals within PH, at the point in time when going into PRU14, were all united against corruption - corruption that was embodied in two things - Najib and Umno/BN. No ifs and no buts. And who put PH together? Tun Mahathir. And PH fell apart when Muhyiddin left to serve his vested interest and the vested interest of those who were like-minded.
Now we are talking about PRU15.
I can sit here and write any number of pages to justify any number of factions, political entities, and individuals who will or will not get together in order to win PRU15 and the truth and falsehood of what I write can be argued for or against in many ways. Each debate and argument can be true or false depending on where you are coming from...but when all is said and done, only one truth will be left standing, PRU15 can only be won by another "PH".
Yes PRU15 will be won by another "PH" - not the PH as it was at PRU14 but a PH that is united against all that is evil in Malaysia today - embodied by the eternal scrooge of Malaysian Politics - CORRUPTION and all the attendant evil that CORRUPTION brings and breeds.
As I see it now, one individual is able to bring together another "PH". Only one entity can provide the structure and the wither all to enable everyone and every faction and every political entity to get together to lead and form government at PRU15. That individual? Tun Mahathir. That entity? Gerakan Tanah Air : GTA
That Individual - Tun Mahathir may be old, but he is there, ready and willing to be the person to put all this together. And as for GTA....already a done deal.
For sure there will be many of you that will argue for and against such a sweeping statement made by that crazy old man in Melbourne, but this much you have to agree with me. Malaysia's political landscape has changed. Not one party, not one political ideal, not one race, not one religion, and not one individual will ever be allowed to dominate and use politics, race, or religion to serve the vested interests of a few. Not ever again. We are past that.
Future political parties, future leaders, and future governments will be defined by one critical need: INCLUSIVENESS in all things Malaysians, of all Malaysians, and there will be no going back. Impossible to go back because as I have said earlier on, the political landscape has changed forever.
If we do not work together. We will fail. If we are not together. We will fall. So damm BN or PH. We have to go beyond that. Beyond race, religion, and politics. We must now think in terms of Malaysia and Malaysians. Only one individual has the foresight and the ability to think in those terms. Tun Mahathir.
No he is not a racist. He is a realist. He is today focused on getting the Malays together because the Malays will decide who will form a government. There are no two ways about that. Lose the Malay votes, and you will never form a government. So Tun Mahathir will focus on the Malays but Tun also understands that the other races matters. GTA has been structured to be inclusive of the non-Malays and yet embracing the needs of the Malays - GTA will serve all Malaysians.
This is the reality we face today.
How many non-Malays look at a Malays and see in that Malay various shades of Najib, Umno, Pas, Zakir Naik, nepotism, greed and corruption? They also see laziness, rent-seeking, crutch needing handicapped human beings unable to stand on their own two feet without assistance from the Malay government. Kan?
And how many Malays look at a non-Malays and see in that non-Malay an infidel, idol worshiping, pork eating, money-driven, money-worshiping being that lacks any spirituality within themselves and are forever looking at ways and means to subjugate the Malays and are never grateful that they have been given sanctuary in a country that they now call home? How many?
Like it or not, this thinking exists!
It also exists deep within me, but education and common sense tell me that I need to push those feelings aside and treat others as I want others to treat me. In Malaysia today, the balance between them and us...between those Malaysians who can think with empathy and sympathy for others....is still a chasm wide enough to cause much concern for many of us. And a chasm wide enough that can be exploited by politicians for their own vested and selfish gains from both sides of the racial and religious divide.
These divides are not imagined. They are real, and we have to live with them.
GTA and Tun recognize that reality. Let us all get together as we did under PH and let us move forward together as we did under PH. Unfortunately, PH is no more, and to resurrect the old PH is not possible because there is too much bitterness and self-interest that now rules over those who were once all together under PH.
And the PH of old did not have Umno within its ranks.
The Umno of corruption and money politics is being dismantled - not only by Ismail Sabri, but by Ismail Sabri and others within Umno who are of his ilk. Najib Razak is in jail. Rosmah Mansor is now a convicted felon and you and I know that there will be no maaf - tiada maaf bagi mu- for the Umno court cluster and others of their genre. The feral and toxic corrupted Umno leaders are still there in Umno but they are all running around like headless chickens fully aware that their time to breed and go forth and multiply in Umno, is truly over.
You want a new umno? It is happening now. You want the old corrupt leaders out? It is happening now. What more do you want Umno to do? Yes, there are many other things you want done in Umno but change is happening within Umno. And there will be no going back for Umno - so you need to embrace the new Umno and the people behind the new Umno : behind UMNO TIGA.
So there you have it...another "PH" but this time with Umno!
Why not?
But Tun Mahathir is part of the old is he not?
That he may, but who else will provide the leadership within Gerakan Tanah Air until it matures and is ready to lead us all into the new political frontiers that now beckon us? Reformasi showed us the way and made us realise what was possible. Pakatan Harapan made it all happen. GTA will now bring everything together and make us into the image that we have all wanted of Malaysian and of all Malaysians. One people, one nation, moving together towards a future for everyone that wants to call Malaysia home. Enough said.
P.S Just for the record. It is now 3.21 a.m Friday 2nd September. The above thoughts have been swirling in my head for the past few days and I had to put it all down here now. We all want ONE MALAYSIA. We all want to be together as MALAYSIANS...how we differ is in the manner we want to achieve this. These are my thoughts on how that may be done. Agree or disagree with me if you must BUT let us start to talk about these things now before it is too late and let us do so with an open mind and with clarity.
Comment: Great article and I like your reasoning, bro. However, apart from the politics and infighting which has characterized UMNO since Muyiddin's betrayal, where are the evidence that UMNO's raison d'être has changed and the practices of self-aggrandizement, Ketuanan Melayu etc have changed, with or without Mahathir? Are we taking them all as articles of faith after the entire history of our independent existence has been about EVERYTHING going from bad to worse, and aren't we are still continuing to be entrenched in communal politics, the latter being cancer and anathema of ONE MALAYSIA, from the very start?
Lawrence
Mahathir still around itself a question.... Langkawi also might lose....😊😊😊
Correction: Haven't heard much of Gerakan tanah air (GTA), NOT Gabungan.
By the way, I have been wondering: why the creation of names after names of the next party? Doesn't it shows indication of inconsistency? Where is the ideal, firm belief and stand? Am still wondering.
'Ayuh Malaysia' has been doing that exactly, the inclusiveness narrative and obviously doing a good job so far bringing together the young, old, fence sitters and even other party. They are already awakening minds and visions of inclusiveness. The best part? They're transparent.
Gabungan? Haven't heard much of anything from them! If inclusiveness is their aim as sprout above why not speak about? You see, in the public eyes the possibility of the 'sheraton move' happening again is very, very real. No, the people absolutely don't want that to happen again. Period.
Umno/bn? For six DECADES the hierarchy at the top has become worse than spoil brats who literally loses their mind because the lollipop was taken from their grasp.…
