Nurul, Anwar and that "Can I advise you something" mentality!

Rosmah had her "Can I advise you something" question for Najib. Zizie Izette was asked to enter her defense on three counts of corruption charges amounting to RM2.8 million. The two sons of that Baling Member of Parliament were arrested to facilitate investigations into the appointment of contractors involving Tabung Haji projects. And how many of these sorts of tales have we heard "senior government servant was arrested under Section 16(a)(B) of the MACC Act while his son was held under Section 16(a)(B) and Section 16(a)(A) of the same Act"?

And remember Jho Loh and 1MDB? He is not a staff of 1MDB. He holds no position in any ministry, and has no advisory role to the prime minister in finance or economy, yet he controls everything to do with 1MDB and everyone listens to his instructions. He even controls Najib's personal bank account! And 1MDB has saddled our nation with an RM50 billion debt!

This obnoxious collusion between power and influence for personal gain has been happening for decades in Malaysia. How is this possible? How are these "non-entities" without any official position or role, able to wield so much power and influence in government, and over government and public officials?

One word. Corruption.
They are all corrupt. Their husband, their father, whoever they claim they are working for, and whoever they are connected to, are also corrupt. When you are corrupt, everything is a revolving door that enables power and influence to collude, and corruption thrives.

I understand why there is a frenzy of accusations, condemnations, and premonition of the dire consequences that will surely result from the appointment of Nurul Izzah as the financial and economic advisor to her father, the prime minister.

But, even without any appointment as her father's financial and economic advisor, Nurul Izzah can already do what all those people above have done.

She can go to any ministry, call up any minister and instructs anyone in the government, in the GLCs, and in any statutory bodies and ask any company and anyone beholden to the government and the prime minister, to do anything she wants.....because she is the daughter of the prime minister. She does not need to be appointed to any advisory position to do this and more.

Yes, she can do all this and more, but will her father back her up by punishing anyone who does not do her bidding?

The question you have to ask yourself is simply this. Are Nurul Izzah and Anwar Ibrahim corrupt and will they use power and influence for personal gain? Or, are they two Malaysians who are prepared to put in their time, their effort and commit themselves to nation-building for the greater good of our country and the rakyat?

Enough said.

We pray that DSAI and Ezzah after all the decades of sufferings and seeking reforms are truly seeking true reforms and all the actions taken now are serious to stamp corruption . We have to give them the trust and mandate to just do that which are certainly challenging to say the least.

I have a good feeling that DSAI is adamant in achieving this reform and need good honest people like Ezzah, Rafizi etal at his side to get the job done. Remember always that the civil servants have been compromised and remained suspect and will take time to reform.
