PETALING JAYA: Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim cannot afford to be overly cautious about his support for reforms to the point of holding them back, according to a political analyst. Anwar’s dependence on the support of several parties for his government should not prevent him from making tough decisions even if they are unpopular with his allies. “Anwar’s brand and platform is one of reforms. What reforms has he delivered so far?” said Jeniri. “Where is the repeal of draconian laws, the separation of the role of the attorney-general and public prosecutor, bold reforms like the recognition of the Unified Examination Certificate or equal allocations for all MPs?”
Jeniri said even the post of domestic trade and cost of living minister had not been filled. “It has been vacant for three months. That’s a low-hanging fruit, just make an appointment,” he said.
Comment:
What does Anwar concern himself with?
Every Friday prayer is an event - not only a religious one but also a public relations exercise for PMX to meet and greet his adoring fan base.
Trips overseas, meeting foreign dignitaries and grandstanding on matters and issues that have nothing to do with the reason he was elected to office: that of bringing in much-needed reforms, good governance and improving the lot of the average Malaysians.
Many of us are disappointed, sad and now, simply fed up and angry that this Madani Unity Government that had held much promise of reforms and a better way of doing government, has not only failed to deliver on those hopes and promises, but has now regressed to be one where the same old issues of race and religion dominate.
Maybe Fadhila pronouncement that "hanya peminpin Melayu bangsat sahaja tak reti pertahankan Islam dan lembaga" will soon come to roost?
Whatever reserves of goodwill and trust PMX has had when going into PRU15 have been severely depleted, if not already running on empty. Enough said.
His ego needs a blow up....usually charismatic personality sane meds....😂😂😂
He’s busy grandstanding as a statesman n as such has no time for petty things like taking care of the nation’s health. He leaves that to his third rate ministers.
Guess he wants to be the Mandela of the East...
