If PDRM cannot look after one of its own, how can it take care of others?

Ayob said at a forum on Thursday that “certain quarters” were looking to bring him and Dang Wangi police chief Noor Dellhan Tahaya, down by tarnishing their reputation through slander. He did not say what accusations had been made internally but said he would stand his ground in the face of investigations.

Comments:

Ayob is the Deputy Inspector General of Police - he is next in line to the top job in PDRM. What need is there for Ayob to make these kinds of comments in the public domain? Would it not be more prudent and correct for PDRM to handle these kinds of issues internally far away from the prying eyes of those who are seeking to do Ayob and PDRM harm? Or is Ayob telling us that PDRM cannot manage these kinds of situations where its very own people are being threatened by slander or even physical harm? For surely if they cannot manage a situation involving one of their own, how are they able to take care of the safety and security of the public?

Not a word or comment from his boss.

Did he took these allegations to his boss.?

We have a state within a state in Malaysia

Quite a few scandals that we know and hardly anyone gets punished or sacked

Gopi saga a few years ago and all went quiet

There were rumours of collusion between top brass and the criminal

mob and all went quiet as usual

What happened with Nicky Low saga ?

Same old same old cul de sac

What we know is the tip of the iceberg

We all know that ALL departments in the government needs a

radical overhaul and a complete detox job.

Will any malay PM have the guts to do this ?

If the preceding decades of the PDRM record is anything to go by, a few things stand out as ‘common denominators’, regardless of who is the top dog there:

  1. A serious lack of transparency on how cases of national significance are handled. Altantuya, Teo Beng Hock, Pastor Raymond and company, 1MDB are just the ‘tip of the iceberg examp

  2. Perceived cover-ups based on a public perception of you scratch my back’ culture entrenched within the ranks of the PDRM

  3. ‘Changing of the guards’ when some top officer starts to initiate change (a good thing) or ‘whistle-blows’ on some nefarious plots within and is suddenly transferred from HQ

  4. Immediate follow up action against opposition MPs (especially) based on some MP remark.…
