From airstrikes to date, Gaza has had 1,000 deaths and 340,000 of its people displaced. Those figures will double if a ground invasion begins. Israel has chosen to embark on a litany of inhumanity and brutality as they pulverized Gaza into submission, and, as they have told us they will do, pound Hamas into oblivion. And, in both intent, they may well succeed unless the rest of the world wakes up to the holocaust that is now happening in Gaza. No fuel, no medicine, no electricity, no water, no food. Is Israel starving the Palestinians into submission? How can you starve anyone into submission when they welcome death as a release from their suffering and their pain? When death is their path to salvation. To syurga?
Israel's government has failed the Jewish people. Their military, the best in the region - so they claim - has also failed miserably. The Israeli government and its military, both, need a military victory to gain some brownies points to hide their guilt and shame at having let Israel and its people down. A failure that has cost them over 1000 lives.
That military victory will be hard to come by when Hamas has over 100 hostages in Gaza to be used as human shields. And more potent, is the human factor. The emotional roller coaster of having hostages in Gaza, and Hamas is not beyond exploiting this emotional factor to protect and defend Hamas. Hamas has been calling the families of those hostages to let them know that the hostages are still alive. At least for now, any attacks by Israel will be a threat to their safety, if not their lives. And more potent than this human factor of hostages being held in Gaza, is what the rest of the world will think of the holocaust now being perpetrated upon the defenseless children, women, old and the sick people of Gaza by the Israeli bullies. Punish Hamas, but not the Palestinians. Half of Gaza's two million population, are children!
What is Israel's intent?
At the very least, Israel wants to wipe Hamas off the face of this earth.
Even at the cost of losing the hostages? Not bloody likely because the backlash from the death of any hostages from the family and the people of Israel will be too severe for Netanyahu's government to survive - if not now, then soon.
Already the United States has reiterated its stand: They have Israel back....but the US has reminded Netanyahu that his enemy is Hamas, not the people of Palestine. So ...go get Hamas but think about what can be done for the Palestinians. Surely there must be a way out. Punish Hamas, but not the Palestinians.
No one should condone the atrocities perpetrated by the Hamas terrorists upon the Israelis - just as no one should condone the atrocities committed upon the Palestinians in Gaza by the Israeli. This circle of violence must stop.
For now, we have to wait and see how many Palestinians must die, how much of Gaza is to be obliterated, and how much blood and gore is to be on the hands of the Israelis before the rest of the world tells them to stop doing what they have already started: the killing of children, women, the old and the sick of Palestine in the name of exacting revenge for the killing by Hamas.
An eye for an eye?
Surely that went away with the advent of civilization!
So what makes the Israelis different from the Hamas terrorists? Judging from their deeds in the last few days in killing over 1,000 Palestinians and depriving over 340,000 Palestinians of a roof over their heads...and now starving them, depriving them of water, medicine, food, electricity, and fuel....nothing much. The Israelis and Hamas, are one and the same thing!
Hamas has hijacked the Palestinian cause for their own version of a caliphate. Utterly sick.
WHY Blame Israel??? WHY Blame Hamas???? The NEVER END conflict / war. On the 1st place Hamas KNEW the consequences they attack Israel. But WHY attack??? Either $$$$ or Power Struggle within.
Stop posting pictures of children or women death because of the conflict. You made the bed so you sleep on it. Yes, in conflict innocence people always get hurt the why supports those itches trigged leaders? The people allowed it to happen after hundreds of years conflicts and suffering, never learn. I would not feel sorry for both.
It would most authentic if Hamas puts out an official communique as to how it perceives a compromise can be achieved. We cannot rely on 3rd party interpretation of its intent.
For a start,it will help if the ordinary Palestinians will stop harbouring the Hamas Militants.Expose them to be captured to save the innocent.
