Fatwa or no fatwa...zina & rasuah....as long as they don't get caught, Muslims do it...kan?

Sunday 5th February. Selamat pagi Malaysia. I just learned, that, in line with Islamic teachings, there is a ‘smoking is haram’ fatwa, decided by the Muzakarah Committee of the National Fatwa Council for Islamic Religious Affairs. Alcohol I know is haram...but smoking too?

I am no smoker. I don't drink alcohol. Fatwa or no fatwa, I don't do those things.

I have gout. Seafood, proteins like red meat, and coffee which can trigger gout pain, are not good for me. Seafood, and red meat, I have occasionally. Coffee I have many times a day. I suffer the consequences for doing so because my gout does a karmic return every now and then to remind me not to do what I am not supposed to do, but I suffer the consequences willingly because, seafood, red meat, and coffee, especially coffee, I need in my life. And damm gout.

I guess there are Muslims who smoke, drink, and do other haram things that they are not supposed to do. Things like zina (unlawful sexual intercourse), exposing body parts, and, rasuah.

I do not know what exposing body parts does to some people, but I do know what zina and rasuah do... doing these haram things makes the already wretched and miserable life of some Muslims, a bit more bearable and a bit more fun. How often they do these haram things is for them to know, but being Muslims, all that they can hope for is that they do not get caught by the Islamic powers that be.

Of zina, the possibility of being caught by the powers that be is manifestly more, much, much more, than being caught for doing rasuah!

Why so? Why are these Islamic powers that be more concerned about what goes on in the privacy of one's bedroom - whether moral or immoral...about whether a wife should say yes or no to the demands of a husband whilst both of them are riding a camel, or even if a paintbrush is halal or haram - why are they more concern about the halal or haram of these things, than about the halal or haram of rasuah?

Ahhhh...why not listen to what Imraz Ikhbal has to say on halal or haram.

Cure for gout. The standard allopurinol etc shows no efficacy after a decade and Rheumatologist prescribed me Febuxostat, also for certain cancer treatment. I can eat seafood, red meat etc.

Jais is an administrative division of selangor government. It is responsible to help guide its believers in selangor to live and achieve a fulfilling life.

If the ruling on a point of islamic law is given by jais and it is not enforced, it is likely that the people are not scared about breaking it.

The population is large but the enforcement team is less and maybe there are no practical consequences for breaking them.
