Education & politics lock step & moving away from social integration and unity?

Tak mungkin hilang

Irama dan lagu

Bagaikan kembang

Sentiasa bermadu

Andai dipisah lagu dan irama

Lemah tiada berjiwa

Hampa

Irama dan lagu tak mungkin hilang.....

Nor should our people lose their Tanah Air.

Sometimes I wonder if we will ever get out of this sense of living in a nation that does not care for its people. Does the rakyat matters?

The Malayan Emergency (1948 to 1960) could have brought deep division between the Malays and the Chinese because it was all too easy to make it into a fight between the people of Malaya (the Malays) and the Communists (the Chinese). To fight the Communists threat, the Chinese were being isolated in New Villages (all Chinese), while the Malays went into the jungle to fight the Communist ( mainly Chinese). But in truth, the Emergency united our people together and it became a war between them (the Communist) and us (Malayans). Malayans prevailed.

Fast forward to late 2022. Our people went through a general election like no other general election before. The results of that election told of the deep division that existed between our people. A division wrought not only out of race and religion but a division carved out by politicians. A division that now threatens the very foundation upon which our nation has been founded on. That of a nation of many races, of many cultures and of many religious beliefs brought together out of love and loyalty to a country we now call our own. Politics has changed all that.

Our education system is walking lock step with our political leaders. Kids have been brainwashed to move away from social integration and unity. Race and religion dominates and today, with voters age reduced to 18, we have a bunch of voters who have no knowledge of what it means to our country, when they vote for a religious candidate.

Mahathir and Umno thought that was the way to go when they were in government - the easier for Umno to indoctrinate the Malays to feel insecure on the loss of the rights of the Malays ---despite the Malays being in control of all government sectors. While UMNO were in government, this indoctrination of the the Malay young went on full tilt. Karma has returned to bite Umno in the backside because the same Malay youths, already into race and religion, are today into PAS. With voters age reduced to 18, we have a massive block of young Malay/Muslim voters who have no knowledge of what it means to our country, when they voted PAS. And that is already a done deal in 2022 when PAS got the largest number of seats at the general election.

Way back, Umno has set government policies to be in line with their priorities: and their priorities then was to win over the majority of voters. Whether that meant gerrymeandering the electoral boundaries, or the built up of the well funded Jakim, the use of race and religion for political gain.... and no one was more poised and set to maximize these electoral weapons at their disposal to win the majority of votes, than PAS. And who had made all this possible for PAS? Mahathir and Umno of course.

Today the reality is this: Our FDI is low and our currency is badly affected and both need to be managed past its DNA (do not resucitate) stage that it is now in. Our purchasing power is declining at the international and domestic level. For the politicians it is time to prioritize goals. Whai is more important? Keeping oneself in power or doing what's best & right for all Malaysians? Do they understand that policies must be inline with the priorities - and that priority is to win over the majority of the voters! We are the voters. What about us? DSAI please focus on domestic issues.

DSAI:

Another week and another country. This time in Saudi...and then maybe Egypt, Turkey again and from there mediate between Hamas, Israel and the US for a immediate truce...and work towards a two state solution. For sure a solution to that 80 year old problem must be negotiated given the state of war that now exists between Gaza and Israel....but surely DSAI, there is a time and a place for everything....and for Malaysians, there are domestic issues and problems that need to be resolved now, rather than later. The nation cannot be on auto pilot once too many times.

The issue is simply this. From December 2022, Malaysians who voted for change, good governance, an independent judiciary, no corruption and a prime minister for all Malaysian have been disappointed - a disappointment that has deepened and increased as your first year in office nears. Our FDI is low and our currency is heading way down south. Costs of living is untenable. SOSMA and its likes, does not do anything to comfort Malaysians that things are changing for the better. Think back to those days when there was hope within you that all will be well in the fullness of time for you, your loved ones and for Malaysians and Malaysia. Please, now that you are the prime minister, give us hope too that all will be well for us all in the fullness of time. Amen.
