DSAI is now living his future. He is making his future. His future is also our future.

Selamat Pagi Malaysia.

Once in a while, there comes into this world, a Buddha, a Jesus Christ and a Mohammad to bring spiritual enlightenment. Once in a while we are gifted by the presence of an Abraham Lincoln, a Winston Churchill, a Mahatma Ghandi, a Martin Luther King, and even a Mikhail Gorbachev, whom by their deeds and leadership, are able to make a difference to the world we live in. At times the shadow of a Hitler, a Mao Zedong,a Pol Pot, Stalin, and a Idi Amin darken the world by their murderous intent and deeds. And just when it seems the world seems destined to be lost in self doubt, mindless and senseless savagery towards each other, we are gifted by the likes of Mother Teresa and a Mandela.

So what now of this Anwar Ibrahim that has been our lot to have as our leader since November 2022? Wither goes Anwar and how shall he be remembered when compared to leaders that have come before him? You may say, let history be the judge of that! You may say, at the very least, let him finish his term of office and then judge him. We do not have time to consider those limitations.

History will be kind to Anwar for three things: REFORMASI, REFORMASI AND REFORMASI….and all these three things, he has told us, has now been replaced by MADANI.

If REFORMASI has brought our nation to the threshold of change and the dawn of a new era without corruption, with good governance and unity of purpose amongst the diversity that had once threatened to divide our people, why stop now and replace REFORMASI with MADANI?

If REFORMASI has taken Anwar Ibrahim from the depths of being prosecuted and persecuted, years in prison, through personal pain, sacrifices and the highs and lows of politics, and betrayal by those whom he once thought to be his comrades in arms….why discard REFORMASI now?

Discard REFORMASI for MADANI? Why Anwar? Should not the past be the guru you should go to to guide you to the future? Should you not build upon the foundation already laid out by REFORMASI to go boldly into the new dawn that beckons you after November 2022?

All this we can discuss and debate among ourselves in the coming days, but for Anwar Ibrahim, the time to debate his future is past. He is now living in his future. He is now making his future. What worries me, and should worry you all, is simply this: His future is also ours! And because his future is also ours, he needs to listen to what we have to say, what we want, and what we expect of him to do, for OUR future.

I know what I want of Anwar Ibrahim. Do you know what you expect of him? And most important of all, does Anwar Ibrahim know what that future should be. I think the time has come for all of us to tell each other our thoughts, our worries, our expectations and our demands of ourselves, and of Anwar Ibrahim.

Let us begin this dialogue sooner rather than later for it has now become obvious to many of us that this MADANI government, led by Anwar Ibrahim, is unraveling at a pace that should be a worry for all of us.

Enough said.

Once out of the bottle, there is little that we can do but face the consequences. Talibanization of all, be it government or dominant institutions in Malaysia, all seemingly cannot get themselves out from subscribing to dogmatic theme of trying to out-Islamize each other, to no end, I might add. This has to stop.

A case in point, a typical ordinary Malay lifestyle is no longer the Malay of the past but more of Arab-wanna be. Granted we have to live in the presence, get ready for the future and adapt to changing times but we must remain true to ourselves with authentic identity. Right now, Malaysian cultural milieu seemingly to be anything painted and camouflaging "Islamic" will be swallowed…

A few off the top of my head

NEP should serve as intended and not captive of the rich Bumis who have abused it , dipping into it like a revolving door as and when they please. Targets should be set and made accountable to Parliament. A harmonious Malaysia is only achievable when the Malays make progress and feel secure but not with a " crutches "mentality. It would require deep societal effort. Application where appropriate extended to the non Malays.

The civil service should be restructured to reflect all Malaysians. Should be a civil service of all talents and further not exclusively based on seniority.
