DSAI. From "UMNO Mari Man" to an "UMNO Lari PM"....but how will it all end for UMNO?

DSAI election as prime minister passed muster on three critical criteria that all Malaysian prime minister that has come before him, possessed: being a Malay, a Muslim, and "UMNO mari".

And yet DSAI coming marks two watersheds in our nation's history: He is "UMNO mari" who has now "UMNO lari"and, he is a "bekas banduan". We have never had a prime minister like DSAI before, but the common consensus today is that an "UMNO mari" prime minister will go the way of the DODO. The"bekas banduan" bit should be optional for any future PMs.

Being the first one of its kind, DSAI now finds himself between the devil and the deep blue sea. Does an "UMNO mari" background matter in Putrajaya? The short and sweet answer to that has to be a resounding "YES". DSAI is himself once an "UMNO mari". His number two is an "UMNO mari" man who, for the time being, will not lari from UMNO.

But if truth be told, we are waiting patiently for the "UMNO lari" part of DSAI to unravel.

The part that is unnerving about these UMNO politicians is that they think Malaysia owes them a living. Looting is done with impunity. They think they have a divine right to rule. Anything to the contrary is arrogantly dismissed. They do not care about accountability and the consequences of their actions. UMNO comes first. DSAI's success is not in the interest of UMNO and the party might try to undermine some of his efforts in their pursuit to get back into power.

Today, UMNO is facing its sternest test - not from without, but from within. UMNO's problem are all internal! The old world as UMNO knew it, that of an UMNO majority and UMNO rule, is at an end. What political power UNMO once had is up for grabs as the other political johnny-come-lately political newcomers battle for control. And the battle has been ugly.

UMNO is now deeply divided between those who support their current president and those who don't. Between tradition, loyalty, and those seduced by what political power and its political spoils will bring to them. Between those who want UMNO to remain true to its principles, and those whose vested interests lie in UMNO's collaboration with others.

Will working with DAP, PH and Anwar Ibrahim be the way to go? Or will the faction within UMNO that is hell-bent on the pursuit of personal wealth regardless of consequence be the way that UMNO want to go? This is a dangerous path to tread. While these UMNO mari search for a rural, racial, and religious base, Malaysians are becoming better educated, more Malaysian, and cosmopolitan, and are demanding high-quality services and choice in everything from politics to the concerts they can watch...while for many in UMNO, the key issue is money...the lack of it or the getting of it.

Whether UMNO is capable of cleansing itself, re-energizing its base, refurbishing its moral and ethical standards, and adopting policies that suit the Malaysia we are now living in, remains to be seen. A collision seems imminent! A mistake will take UMNO on an irredeemably downward spiral. We have a ringside seat to what is about to happen. Sit back and watch....and enjoy the spectacle if you can.

Umno is NOT the problem but the malay voters are

They are brainwashed in race and religion

Most of them are brainwashed into thinking kaffirs are their

worst enemies but , in fact their own malay politicians

are the ones shafting them

At every opportunity or misfortune , bring in the two Rs to

save their butt or shore up their positions

Classic example Hadi and PAS

What ever happened to critical thinking??

If the malay voters rejected the play of 3Rs , these

parties and politicians will wither and die

And Malaysia has a chance of survival

Alas , this will not happen in the forseeable future

In fact , the brainwashing continues

Replying to

The one thing that, the Mahathirs, Hadis, Maidins, etc, etc, etc’ do want is unbridled and complete loyalty and so forget about the critical thinking bit!! Malaysian education has been dumbed down to such low levels it is unbelievable!!
