Barely eight months ago, Perikatan Nasional, did well in GE15. GE15 heralds a significant change in the voting patterns of both, existing voters and, more importantly, new voters. Simply said, the conservative religious politics of PAS attracted an audience of young and first-time voters, in numbers large enough for PAS to lay claim that it is now a force to be reckoned with in mainstream politics - at the federal level - in Putrajaya!

A few days back, the results of the six state elections confirmed that Malay support for Perikatan Nasional is holding firm, and increasing. In all the states that they contested, PN made inroads at the expense of Pakatan Harapan. So, if you ask me, are there many Malays supporting PN today? My answer will have to be: "YES...a lot".

But the exploitation of race and religion for political purposes creates doubts and divisions – and once the seeds of racism are planted, they bear bitter fruit in society. These are some of the sentiments posted on social media that are causing unrest, and division among all Malaysian - the Malays included.

ANWAR SHOULD STOP WASTING TIME - CONSERVATIVE MALAYS LOVE DIRTY WATER, POVERTY, RACISM AND CORRUPTION.

ORANG ISLAM KENA ADA PARANG SEMBELIHAN. UNTUK PERSIAPAN. MANA TAHU, SI KAFIR NAK JADI MACAM LEMBU KORBAN.

There are even more mischievous sentiments being voiced that dare suggests that the Raja Raja Melayu perlu duduk bawah Hadi Awang and even a call to anak anak muda PN berhimpun besar-besaran di depan Istana Negara jika YDP Agong berdegil untuk pertahankan Kerajaan Perpaduan Anwar Ibrahim.

Where will all this end?

This much I am certain......our nation, and our people are almost at the end of their patience and tolerance in the manner that DSAI has done government since he came to office in late 2022. Too many promises have not been kept and here are, but just a few of them....

• Has the price of petrol gone down? NO

• Has the cost of living gone down? NO

• Has Sosma and ISA been thrown out? NO

• Are PDRM and SPRM being used to further the political agenda of PH? YES.

• What has happened to SPRM's investigation into VN Sivakumar, Menteri Sumber Manusia from DAP?

• Too many state visits abroad? YES.

• Too many corrupt politicians still on the loose? YES.

And the list of misgivings against PMX and promises not kept, continues to grow.

We want PMX to succeed. We want this Madani government to deliver on its promise to do their best for all Malaysians...even those in Kelantan, Kedah and Terengganu. GE15 and PRN are done, and the results confirms the legitimacy of this Madani goivernmnet. Now the time for doing, is at hand.

DSAI must first deal with the divisive and destructive politics of race and religion. Do it with all the political will and means that you have at your disposal as prime minister. Do it now!

When the Attorney General, whose tenure you choose to extend, decides to charge Mahiaddin with four counts of power abuse charges, the AG better make sure he can make the charges stick. And maybe...just maybe...the reasons why Mahiaddin is being acquitted is because SPRM, under Azam Baki, whose tenure you also decided to extend, are not doing their work properly. These two were appointed by Mahiaddin during his tenure as prime minister. Does it not stand to reason that a dog will not usually bite the hand that feed it?
