cakap cakap...we know them before they were ministers. What has changed?

Updated: Jan 17, 2023

Even if the tempo and prevalence of politics in our daily lives seem to have abated, there is still too much politics being done and reported on a daily basis....though the focus is now more towards making right of what is wrong. When will Muhyiddin be arrested? There is to be a court case on the legality of PRU15 in Terengganu...and so on and so forth. And there are still people around who think that Najib has not been given a fair trial. In short, we are still being regaled by too many things happening in and out of government to be able to ignore politics or leave politics to Politicians. How long more is this to go on?

We already know about the abuse of public office for personal gain during the previous governments. I wish PMX and other Ministers will stop commenting publicly on these things and just allow the enforcement agencies and the courts to get on with the business of bringing these serious criminals to trial, have them judged, and then if found guilty, jail them. And leave them in jail until they have done their time.

A bit less PR and more work in the office for PMX please, for surely the time has come for PMX and his Cabinet to put their noses to the grindstone, roll up their sleeves and begin work in earnest.

Anthony Loke, by virtue, that he has been there before, in Cabinet and a Minister to boot, is doing his fair share of making sure the Rakyat's interests are paramount. Hannah Yeoh? What she is now doing in her ministry is no different from what she has been doing before she became Minister - always responsible, accountable, and focused on doing her best for the rakyat and for Malaysia - and as she has said in the past..." Whatever it takes to fix the country, let's do it together". Hannah is in there doing the doing now that she is a Minister.

Saifuddin Nasution, as KDN Minister, seems as solid as a rock, and we know he is there for PMX as he has always been in the past. With Saifuddin as Minister, PMX will not have to look over his shoulders too often for he knows that Saifuddin will have his interests at heart.

Rafizi is missing in action, but the task ahead for him as Minister of Economy is daunting and critical - not only for the success of the PH government but critical for the future of the Malaysia that we all want. Give him some slack. I am sure that he and his team are burning the midnight oil putting together a structured plan that our nation needs to make Malaysia great again. When he is ready, he will begin his task. He has not failed us in the past, and I know he will not fail us now.

Fahmi Fadzil, as the Minister of Communications and Digital, is treading the path between what is good for PH, what is good for the Rakyat and what is good for Malaysia - not an easy task because what is good for one, is not what the other wants. He is a good man and in time, he will deliver. No doubt about that.

Malaysians are comforted by the knowledge that Ministers are there to work for the Rakyat, not for themselves. Let us give them the time and the space to do their work.

I am getting my head around the fact that people that I use to message with, talk, and write about are now in Government - Ministers even! And it is all I can do to stop myself from messaging them to tell them that they should do this or that if they want to be in government after PRU15.

THEY ARE NOW IN GOVERNMENT! PRU15 IS OVER AND DONE WITH! ONE OF THEM IS PMX AND SOME OF THEM ARE NOW MINISTERS!!!

We know them before they were ministers and now that they are ministers what has changed?

For a start, they no longer reply to the messages you sent them! You are not even sure if they read the messages you sent them. You are aware that they are now important people... VIPs or even VVIPs...and who are you in the scheme of things as far as they are concerned. So you adjust.

You no longer expect messages or phone calls from them. You know there is protocol involved and respect must be accorded to them as ministers .....and really, I have no time or the inclination for all that. So I will leave them to their ministerial duties and hope that should there be a time, if we should meet in the future, we will meet as we have been in the past ......as friends.

So in truth, everything has changed. For most of us bloggers, we want to do what we have been doing in the past. We want to keep those bastards in government and Parliament, honest. And if I can continue to do that, I will be ok. Enough said.

Gd mng ☕️😻, Pmx is settling into his new job. He has hold retreat with his ministers and visited kelantan, trengganu and perlis to ensure cooperation from the state's civil servants. He has also hold weekly monday gatherings with jpm and gang in putrajaya. He is there to listen and outline his vision, mission, objectives, goals and action plan for each. His tone of voice are less combative and he knows it is time to show what he is made of. So far so good. So where are we now? Malaysia has been on the defensive since bn lost in 2018. There has been political instability, the pandemic lockdown and wars. Despite this, we have been quite balanced and stable as a nation. Now we need to be dynamic again and attack the economy aggressively. The ministers are inexperienced but hopefully will be capable soon. Thinking like an opposition, they are still focussing on problem solving instead of creating new opportunities. They must be positive and no more nitpicking and faultfinding. Rafizi is an example of not adding value to pmx cabinet. He do not know what it takes to create wealth, to reset or reform the economy. Pmx was probably expecting him to propose ideas such as privatisation, liberalisation and even globalisation. Pmx of course have done a lot of these in the 90s and even created offshore banks in labuan. Murad khalid was the man that set it up. Theres always robert kuok and jack ma, tun daim and goh peng ooi to seek advise from.

Rafizi has the goods. Previous ministers who held this post were not up to the pay grade, not for the lack of trying.

Rafizi is a man who needs good data before proposing economic reforms and changes necessary to create wealth, liberalise the battered economy and strategies to push the economy forward. I am sure he is preparing and will provide the key inputs for the Budget and revision to the Mid to Long term plans

So be a little patient and not made comment like”not adding value “ too soon.
