Apart from Family, the MCOBA brotherhood is one of life's great joys. Imagine, if you will, this scenario. You are invited to have lunch with a group of people, half of whom you have not met before. And in that group, one is older than you by a bit. And the others? They all have nothing in common with each other, except that at one time in our lives, from a galaxy far, far away in time, we attended that boarding school in Kuala Kangsar. ...MCKK.
After MCKK we all went our separate ways doing different things, in different places, and somehow, many decades later, because the President of MCOBA (the Malay College Old Boys Association) happened to be in town...we came together at Warong Mummy in Springvale, Melbourne, for lunch.
From the first warm handshake and words of welcome, we are already fast friends. And by the end of lunch a few hours later, we know that the memory of this lunch that we just had, will live with us for a long, long time. Ahhh the MCKK brotherhood is a thing of wonder and never fails to amaze and bring joy to my heart. Life is good!
