cakap cakap. the clock is ticking!

Growing old is such an imposition on my physical and mental self! Things are going wrong with my physical self. I have been hobbling around my unit these last few days because my calf, both of them, aches like hell. No pain, just a dull ache that allows me to move around the unit but not past the front door! Other parts of my body are good. In working order but not good enough to go for marathons or any other strenuous physical activities. Nudge nudge wink wink you know what I mean.

At 76, you measure your life not by years, not by months, not even by days, but by the ticking of the clock. Most of you who read what I write would be on the right side of 60. Be that as it may, you may have more time than me on this earth, but for all of us, the clock is ticking!

I am in awe and wondering how our PMX can keep to his gruelling schedule. But first thing first. It is incredible, for me, to be able to count DSAI as a friend ....and I use that word 'friend" with trepidation for I know that he is not amused that I have been somewhat overly 'enthusiastic' in writing about what I think he is not doing right, in government. Anwar let us agree to disagree if you do not agree with what I write but you must at least agree to listen to what I, and many others, have to say.

We have not been told the truth by too many prime ministers who have come before you. This blatant lying, done with impunity, at the highest level of government, has been done time and time again without any consequences visiting those who have done the lying. And we make no distinction between those in government and those from without. We ask that you take cognizance of the failings of so many of your peers and tell yourself "The bucks stop here!". And we, in turn, make this promise to you...or at least I will..... no matter what the costs, I will tell you things as they are.

And right now, things are not that good for you. That is so because we hold you to a much higher standard than we do of Mahathir, Pak Lah, Muhyiddin and Ismail Sabri. We expect much more of you because you have had time to think and think and think about what you have to do, what you must do and what you will do when you become prime minister. Now that you are the prime minister, please Anwar...kata di kotakan! And let it be said that I, and many others, are incredibly proud of what you have done to get to where you are now.

To all you guys who are now sitting, or going to be sitting on the other side of the fence away from DSAI, do chill a bit. Come sit beside me and see what we can do together to get to where we want to get to when this Unity Madani government was first given life by our King. And we do so not because the alternative, the Green Wave, is a fate worse than death for our people and our nation, BUT because if anyone can do it, it has to be Anwar.

Sometimes we can wait too long for the things we want...and in the process of waiting, we cannot see that what we want is right in front of our eyes. As I said earlier, at 76, I measure my life not by years, not by months, not even by days, but by the ticking of the clock. And even if you are not yet 76, you too should measure your life in the same way. Let us all work together with DSAI towards the change we want. It is not impossible. It is not improbable. Together, I believe, it is possible.
