Selamat Pagi Malaysia. Sunday mornings always bring the best out of us bloggers because we know most of you will have time to read what we write...kan? This morning is no exception, and I want to write about our perennial burden, the royals, and crooked politicians.
Some of you want our nation to be rid of corrupt politicians. Some wants corrupt government servants to be punished. There are some who want Tun Mahathir, DSAI and Mr Sultan Down South and Dollah out. If you care to ask others, there will be some who will insist that Zakir Naik and those of his ilk too have to be taken out, and, then if we are to be honest with ourselves, there are also many among us who want every non-Malays out. And if truth be told, I know that there are some of you who want me out because, to them, if I have cared for Malaysia, I would not have gone to live elsewhere and abandon my country of birth.
So among us, are hues of many persuasions and many druthers. And so there should be, for are we not a multi-racial nation celebrating our unity in diversity? There should be room for everybody in Malaysia....even for those who want steadyaku47 out!
There are times when I ask myself if I have any regrets about being a blogger that has resulted in me being a persona non grata in Malaysia. Yes, I do have my regrets, but it is regret driven by anger and disgust directed towards the power that be in Malaysia that has governed my country without much ethical and moral consideration and without compassion and care for the lot of Malaysians they deem to be a threat to the security of the nation....or to be more exact...without compassion and care for anyone that threatens their hold on government. Among many others in and out of our beloved Malaysia, I am deemed to be one of those people that is a threat to our nation's security.
I write about the many corrupt Barisan Nasional lawmakers that are sucking the very lifeblood out of our beloved Malaysia through the corruption that they do. I write about the Royals who are bleeding our nation dry, for most of the Royals take and take without giving anything back.
And because I and a few write about the corrupt politicians and the greedy Royals, we are to be arrested upon entry into our place of birth. And once arrested, what then, will happen to us? How will it all end? Are we not able to come home until the corrupt lawmakers and the Royals are gone?
The corrupt lawmakers can be rid of at the next PRU15. Of that I am certain, but what of the Royals?
How will we get rid of the Royals?
The Royals do not have a say in their continued existence or their own survival. That power is vested in the rakyat who will elect their representatives to parliament, and it is for those whom we elect to parliament to decide what is in our interest. So really, we decide if the Royals stay or go. They better not forget that!
IN these last few days, we have seen how the British mourn their Queen, who died after seven decades of duty and service to her people and her nation. That she had fulfilled her promise "I declare before you all that my whole life whether it be long or short shall be devoted to your service and the service of our great imperial family to which we all belong" was beyond any doubt, and yet I questioned the need to have many thousands in her service and wondered at the costs of keeping her in the regal style that she is accustomed to. It must have cost the British many, many millions to do so.
I also question the need to have hundreds, maybe thousands of Malaysians, in the service of keeping Dollah accustomed to the regal style that our King is accustomed to...what more the costs! Why can't Dollah get a Grab ride when he wants to go open Parliament? And when he wants to go back to Kuantan I am sure we will not mind him catching the VIP Bus by Maraliner to Kuantan. Kan?
If he does that, none of us will be inconvenienced by having to give way to a Royal motorcade and outriders when he goes ka sana dan ka sini. And the savings in transport costs will be astronomical!
Dollah can have KFC meals delivered for lunch or dinner, and when there are dinners he needs to give to ex-prime ministers, why not get Mcdonald's to cater for them?
Getting rid of the Royals is a no-brainer...the savings to our national coffers will be worth the slight inconvenience to Dollah for having to wait for Grab to get to parliament.
Of course, all this is being said by me in jest. Grab, KFC and McDonald's is for you and me, not the Royals. And for now, the government jet or TUDM will get Dollah to Kuantan. I, and many others, will still be a person of interest to PDRM and I will not go home for the foreseeable future for I do not want to be detained by the authorities upon entry into my Tanah Air. ...but as long as these are still the norms for many of us....that is as long as those corrupt politicians and the greedy royal will have to continue to read what we write about them and that is as long as they will have Malaysians wanting and working to rid themselves of corrupt politicians and greedy royals. So I suggest they all change or be changed!
Keep those thoughts in your head, but let not those thoughts spoil your Sunday! Enough said.
