Selamat Pagi Malaysia
I took the day off yesterday. Except for some cut and paste, I switched off reading emails, and stayed away from WhatsApp or anything on the Net....but I did make some calls to KL just to keep in touch with what was really happening on the ground in K Hell. There was a touch of Gout when I woke up in the morning but by early afternoon, it virtually, thank God,
vanished....so all in all, it was a decent day...though the weather in Melbourne was cold. It was Winter cold with gusts of winds blowing around you. Fresh and invigorating if you are dressed for it, if you are in Summer wear, you freeze. I did dress for Winter, so I am ok
With the state of politics in my beloved Tanah Air far from my mind, other matters came to mind.
Like sending my shirts to the dry cleaners....yep that is one of those things that I have stopped doing...ironing shirts. In fact, I have stopped ironing anything. Sarongs, singlets, pillowcases...anything. There is an iron somewhere in the house, but I will have to look for it if I ever need to use it for anything!
Then there is the part that needs to be done almost every other day - grocery shopping. I hop on the tram that stops just across the road from my front door, and it takes me to Coles Supermarket - my go-to supermarket because it's clean, well-spaced, and has everything that I need - except for Salt Eggs. I go back the same way that I came...on the tram that stops at my front door....all done within an hour, at the very most.
The rest of the day is enjoyed without any intrusion from anybody or anything. Just me, music, and life. There is food - good food - in the house. Fruits? There are oranges, grapes, bananas, and frozen lycées. There is fish, chicken, frozen pies, veggies, and ice cream in the freezer. Snacks, sweets, and candy in the pantry...and still a bit of cash left in my pockets to last the week. Life is good.
That was yesterday. It is now 7.07 am Thursday morning, and I am at my desk with a Short Black and a glass of water. I powered on my iMac and there are messages in WhatsApp, emails, FB and Twitter to go to - did anything interesting happen yesterday?
The usual flurry of messages from Netizens who are as worried as I am at the state of our nation today, and the usual suspects of Fake News that seems to be everywhere on the Net. I have been fooled many times in the past by these fakes and I think I will continue to be fooled many times, in the future. Such is life when the Net is where you go for information, news, and anything else in between.
Such is life. Selamat Pagi and let the games begin - I am sure there will be plenty for me to write about today.
Do good, be good, and be nice to each other....like my grandchildren!
You have a purpose driven life.
