Azeez is back! Or is he? Pray tell PMX!

JITRA - Kementerian Kemajuan Desa dan Wilayah (KKDW) akan melantik bekas Ahli Parlimen Baling, Datuk Seri Abdul Azeez Rahim sebagai Pengerusi Lembaga Kemajuan Wilayah Kedah (KEDA) yang baharu. Perkara itu diumumkan Timbalan Perdana, Menteri Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi pada Majlis Santuni Kasih Ramadan Kedah di Masjid Al-Aqla, Pekan Jitra, di sini pada Rabu.

I don't care what anyone say. I don't want to hear any debate or discussion. I am deaf to any plea that Azeez must be given a place, any place, in Pakatan Harapan because he is needed in Kedah to deal with the 'take no prisoner" PAS MB who seems ready and able, to take on anybody, even our PMX, in battle.

There is no place in our Pakatan Harapan Madani government for Azeez. Zilch. Zero. Nada.

Kalau dia telah di lantik sebagai Pengerusi KEDA by the Deputy Prime Minister Dato Zahid Hamidi, then collective responsibility for the appointment rests with the Cabinet. And ultimately with PMX, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

Politics, they say, is the art of the impossible.

If it is possible to appoint Azeez as Chairman of KEDA, then Pakatan Harapan must be made to understand that anything is possible in the coming state elections.

What else is possible?

Najib given a pardon? Rosmah not going to prison? LHDN will somehow forget that the Najib family owes them hundreds of millions in unpaid taxes. All the charges against the Umno Court Clusters are quietly dropped? PN will sweep through Selangor and Negri Sembilan in the state elections with ease. That DAP has had enough of this PH government flipping this promise and that promise from their election pledges to the rakyat and leaving PH?

Or will there be another intervention by PMX as had happened in the appointment of the Pengerusi of RISDA? Announced by Zahid, canceled by PMX, and then, after a suitable interval, a reappointment of the same guy as Pengerusi RISDA by Zahid Hamidi?

It will be an interesting few days as we watch how our PMX deals with the antics of a DPM who has a mind of his own and the muscles to bulldoze his way through Cabinet and anyone else in his way, as he goes about building up the sagging fortunes of Umno and continues to consolidate his considerable presence within Umno and the Pakatan Harapan government with a panache that you just have to respect, kan?

There is only one question left to be answered.

Was Azeez appointment as Pengerusi KEDA done with, or without, the agreement of PMX?

Any which way you want to look at it, the damage has been done, and in its doing, our PMX once again has to dig deep into whatever is left of the goodwill reservoir that he might still have, with the rakyat.

With the crucial state elections only moments away (in the parlance of politics, any coming election that you may or may not lose, however far away, are moments away) let no one ask whether PMX's reservoir of goodwill is half-empty or half-full. With PN threatening to sweep through Selangor, Negri Sembilan and making a dent in Penang, PMX will find that he will be needing all the goodwill he can get from the Rakyat!
