If this Pakatan Harapan-led Unity Government is to conduct government, in the same manner, it conducted its PRU15 electoral campaign, then we will have problems. How so? First cakap tak serupa bikin - they told us no working with BN, and now they are! Second, will PH go after the corrupt and suspect in BN... the very people who have been most responsible for putting them in government? Remember, it is BN's support that had put PH in government. And remember it is in BN's that money politics, nepotism, and vulture politics reside....so will PH now go after those in BN who are corrupt and suspect? Third...how do you appease the minorities as you have promised to do when you cannot ignore the need to appease the Malays, whose numbers will decide your fate in government?
Each language will have words that aptly describe the emotions and manner the people native to that language behave and carry themselves. In Bahasa there are words that even the English language would have a hard time matching...words like derhaka, setia and jujur. And these are words that describe the traits of some Malays to a T.
And if you want to find a word in Bahasa that can describe DSAI to a T...you cannot go beyond jujur. Anwar is jujur. He is someone who means well because when you mean well...that is what matters!
What we now have in the proposed Unity Government is a government of contradictions. Different ideologies, different races and religions, and personalities who are as politically divergent as Biden and Putin. If anyone can lead a government of such contradictions, Anwar can.
Ask anyone who knows Anwar well. Ask anyone who has been through thick and thin with Anwar Ibrahim. Ask them if they will trust Anwar with their well-being and with their lives. Invariably, many of them will say a resounding "YES". He is a friend you can depend on when you are in need. He is a friend for all seasons. He is no fair-weather friend. For Anwar has a good heart. And as I said a few days back....that heart is intact.
And here lies the contradictions. How does a man with a good heart do government when all those around him may be untrustworthy? To quote Tennessee Williams "We have to distrust each other. It is our only defense against betrayal".
Anwar will have to distrust his political partners, for that will be his only defense against betrayal.
But...he has a few pluses going his way. He has a good wife and a good family, by his side. He can trust, depend on and not have to worry about betrayal as long as he has Rafizi Ramli as his number two in PKR. And in the leader of BN - whose support has been critical in making him prime minister, he has DSZH (Zahid Hamidi), someone Anwar can trust, depend on and not have to worry about betrayal....no matter what you have heard to the contrary, about Zahid Hamidi.
A man with a good family, a few trusted allies, and the proven courage, steadfastness, abilities, and awareness that a leader needs to do successful government, as Anwar has, has every reason to succeed as our leader and as prime minister.
Before I end this day I had thought long and hard about what I should write about Anwar for you guys to read on Monday morning...and I know I cannot go beyond trying to make you guys understand what kind of man Anwar Ibrahim is to his friends and the kind of emotions that many of us have when we saw him take the oath of office as PM 10.
It is best summed up by this exchange between my cousin and me earlier this evening...
Safiah : My kids 4 of them had Covid, all recovered. ..shukur Azman my husband, mak (who is 97 years old) n me no Covid. Hope Allah protect us. Are you happy DSAi is now PM 10?
Me : We have worked hard for him to be PM...
Safiah : Quiet emotional to see him after all they sort out the gabungan.
That is Anwar for you...he evokes positive emotions of hope within us all for better things to come for Malaysia and Malaysians....and after what we have all gone through in these last decade and counting...is that not what we all want at the very least? H O P E?
Hope that our lives and the lives of our children will now be better. Hope for a better way to do government. Hope that we can have a leader like Anwar Ibrahim.....and we have! So, my friends, wish Anwar well. Pray for his success in the coming days ahead. Give him the benefit of the doubt if there are things he does that may go against what he has promised us he will not do. Remember....his heart is intact!
Enough said.
THE MALAY-MUSLIM NARRATIVE POST-GE 15 Quote The Malay community was also well represented in Pakatan Harapan, Barisan Nasional, Gabungan Parti Sarawak, and Gabungan Rakyat Sabah. Partied such as Umno, PKR, and Amanah would be able to counter any Malay-Muslim narrative that Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia and PAS attempt to propagate. (Therefore) Malay Muslim narrative does NOT only belong to PN, but to the coalition government under Pakatan, which is MODERATE and PROGRESSIVE. They are qualified to present more accurate facts and data, more so if they are placed in strat…
Always doubted votes % to M I C....when SPR roll also padded ... Why should categories rural/semi-urban/urban still exist...polling anywhere is within motor-bikes/car/bas/lorry/heli/ships/planes...😜😜☕some can be sold (extra ballots printed) and areas NO PACA boxes pre-arranged & safely kept at polis station??? 😉☕
Fully agree with you… we hope he will be a great and fair leader to ALL Msians. It shows that he's respected .....immediately after he was announced as PM10, all other nations' leaders greeted n wished him well … unlike the backdoor Mudin n lucky Sabri. Imagine, out of the blue Brunei Sultan made an impromptu visit
I think politics is like football.they all play the game.the game is 'who is more evil'.so they attack and tepis each other during campaign period.after that, the spectator vote.the winner is declared.the prize goes to the winner.after the game ends, the the players will be buddies again and have a pint at the pub. This time, the less evil won in this game of throne. we pray for good to finally triumph over evil. Go dsai!
