Altantuya, Sirul, Azilah, Razak Baginda, Bala....let truth prevail!

Sirul Azhar Umar’s story did not start with the murder of Altantuya. It did not begin when Razak Baginda was 'awarded' the contract to purchase those submarines. It really had its beginning when Najib became PM ...and maybe if you want…. you can go back earlier in time when the insidious culture of corruption was allowed to take root within Umno. It is because of corruption and greed, that Altantuya was murdered.

You need to stand back and take a helicopter view of this Altantuya saga that involved so many other players. The main stakeholders are UMNO, Najib, Razak Baginda, Altantuya and TRUTH! The others are just bit players and victims of circumstance. Let those who have been inadvertently sucked up into this insidious vortex of corruption and greed be given the opportunity to have their tales told and, if deserved, be compensated for their pain and suffering.

Let us go to the root of this saga - the purchase of the Submarines. Whatever happened to those Submarines? Was there ever a need to buy Submarines for the Malaysian Navy? Was there a need to appoint an agent, a go-between…call it whatever you want…was there a need to give someone a commission of RM $500 million …or more to the point…what has Razak Baginda or Perimekar, a Malaysian company of which Baginda’s wife was the primary shareholder, done to deserve the RM$500 million paid for services rendered in the purchase of the Submarine? If there was no Submarine contract, there would not have been that escapade through Europe that Razak took with Altantuya…no need to have Altantuya ‘assist” him in the negotiations for the purchase of the submarines….no need for Razak to promise Altantuya any commission….no need for her to come to Razak Baginda’s house to ask for that commission…no need for Azilah and Sirul to be tasked with ‘dealing’ with Altantuya …and hence there will be no murder and all the subsequent events that happened after the murder of Altantuya.

So really…where did it all begin?

Is there a need for the Unit Tindakan Khas in PDRM? What is their function? To guard VVIPs? To take care of the too difficult cases that the police cannot handle in the ‘normal way? To take care of people like Pastor Raymond Koh? Because if there was no UTK there would not be any reason for PDRM to recruit people like Sirul and maybe, just maybe, Pastor Raymond Koh would still be alive.

Are we to stand around and watch Sirul become, once again, the pawn of others to fulfil their own agendas - at the expense of Sirul’s? And do not forget the others…the families of P Balasubramanium, Altantuya, Sirul and Azilah...to name a few.

I hope this time around, for Sirul at the very least, common sense will prevail. What matters is that whatever the price, whatever it takes and whatever the consequences....truth must prevail. As the truth should prevail in the case of Pastor Raymond Koh! Enough said.
