cakap cakap...'a hard days write,'... roast lamb and potato. Life is good.

That's the book I have been reading these last few days. Anything, everything and all things of the BEATLES I will look at, read and, if I have the money, buy! I am a total convert to all things BEATLES. I have been hooked from the first riffs of Love Me Do through to Hey Jude, All you Need is Love, Strawberry Fields, Across the Universe right up to their last song released "I Me Mine" and what did come after that too.

I remember the precise moment in my life when I first heard "Hey Jude".

I was in my white bath robe looking for a shilling to put in the Gas Meter for my hot water shower (those days in the early 60's you had to put money in the gas meter for hot water) when the Beatles came on the tele and started to sing "Hey Jude" on Top of The Pops...and of course I sat right in front of the tele and watched it all...all 7 minutes and 11 seconds of it. And up to today, whenever that song comes on, I remember sitting down in front of the Tele in my bedsit, at No 11 Oakfield Road, in Finsbury Park N4 London, in a white bathrobe many decades ago listening to "Hey Jude". That was indeed a happening!

Last night I cooked myself Roast Lamb, with lots of garlic, spices and potatoes. Wrapped it up in foil and left in to cook in the oven for three hours covered, and then another 30 mins uncovered. This is simply the most amazing Roast Lamb I have ever cooked in my life because this time around I made myself wait three hours plus thirty minutes before I told myself that it was cooked! Previously, all I could wait was, at most, two and a half hours. So good things do come to those who wait!

The older I get, the more at peace I am with myself. Life is good.
