Selamat Pagi Malaysia.
Some four months ago, on 1st July 2022, I was asked my opinion of Zahid Hamidi. This is the brief I prepared. For brevity and to keep the identity of the person I was briefing incognito, I have left out some portions of the brief.

Is Zahid's position shaky? I think that is an understatement! Zahid Hamidi is well on his way to being a Convicted Felon.... ..He does not have projects or business opportunities to give out to anyone. He does not have the ability to comprehend his present circumstance. BN wants him gone. Umno wants him gone...even Najib does not need him to be around. Too much baggage, no Intellect, no intelligence - only one thing on his mind. How does he get himself out of the legal quagmire he is now in?
He has only one thing going for him: As President of Umno, he has the watikah - the sole right to choose who will stand for election at PRU 15 for Umno. Take that away from him, he is done.
All that he has promised NOT to do - he has done and will continue to do. No DAP, No Anwar and no Bersatu...he is working with Anwar, he is working with a faction in DAP, and he is talking to Bersatu.
He has effectively no political clout......
Sultan Johor - the Sultan has gifted Zahid with at least six vehicles - all those with Johor Number plates are gifts from the Sultan. Maybe even cash has come Zahid's way from Mr Sultan Down South...and the Johor Sultan has overtly helped Umno to win in Johor. Thus the Sultan can insist on having his preferred MB - and Umno has to accept.
Zahid has tried to get Muhyiddin, Anwar, Ku Li and Mahathir to help him get out of his legal predicament. All have said "NO". He has offered Umno's presidency to Muhyiddin. Offered same to Anwar - now still on offer to Anwar - if Umno needs PKR after PRU15 - he will give DSAI DPM and Finance Minister post - for bringing PKR into BN.
Zahid is a Jaguh Kampong who finds himself in a situation way beyond his ability to handle.
Trying to get an election called asap, has always been Zahid's game plan from Muhyiddin time - only now, as he gets increasingly desperate, he throws deceit and caution to the wind and does the same thing overtly - everything is out in the open. And especially destructive to Umno is that factions within Umno now has to choose between Zahid, the incumbent PM, and other factions lurking within Umno to seize the first opportunity of asserting themselves.
The incumbent PM has access to funds, appointments in GLCs, projects, and business activities to give out to anyone supporting him. He can do MOUs with the opposition. He can advise the King when to call for an election.
Ismail Sabri needs time to further consolidate his position within Umno and BN - and that is what he is now trying to get - the time. So far, despite all that Najib and Zahid have thrown at him - including their promise to still have him as PM after PRU15 - has not convinced Ismail Sabri to call for PRU15. He knows that if Umno wins PRU15 with Zahid and Najib still in place, he will be the first one to go.
By end of August - Najib's appeal should be done with, and he will start his sentence - and be locked out of the way.
That was written on the 1st of July. Four months ago. Since then, Najib has began serving his sentence in Kajang. Ismail Sabri lost his nerve and surrendered to Zahid Hamidi's demand for an early election. Parliament has been dissolved and polling day is 19th November.
So what is new?
I will tell you what can be new!
I want to see DSAI stand up in public and tell us all that what I wrote, four months ago in the above brief about him having a post PRU15 pact to work with Zahid Hamidi are lies.
I want DSAI tell us that he has never considered and will never consider, a post PRU15 coalition with Umno, even if the Deputy Prime Minister and the Ministry of Finance was offered to him by Zahid....and that he had never, and will never, consider that option because he, PKR, and PH will never work with Zahid Hamidi or with Umno because Zahid Haimidi and Umno are corrupt to the core.
And I want DSAI to tell us, that nothing - not even taking revenge on Tun Mahathir for not making him PM, and not even any post or any Ministry on offer from Zahid, is worth him, PKR or PH, working with Umno to do government in Putrajaya.
Do that Anwar, and I think you still have a good chance to win PRU15 for PH. Anything else will herald the beginning of the end of your political life. I kid you not!
